Ergon Living

Swing-and-slide pivot that halves a door's clearance footprint

Manufactured in Mirano (Veneto, Italy), Ergon Living needs no masonry or building work and adds no cost over a traditional opening system. It's compatible with wood, glass, metal, and plastic doors, and adapts to existing subframes regardless of material — wood, masonry, metal.

Celegon publishes a layout in which a fully accessible vestibule fits in just 4 m² of floor area. The system's defining use case is space-constrained interiors: en-suite bathrooms, walk-in closets, narrow hallways, opposing-door situations.

Open in half the space.

Ergon Living is Celegon's swing-and-slide pivot — a rotary-translating mechanism that opens the door from both sides with the same push-to-open ease as a traditional swing, but reduces the required clearance footprint by 50%. The leaf rotates AND translates as it opens.

Rotational-translational motion

Rotational-translational motion

The Ergon mechanism rotates the door around a virtual pivot that itself translates along an arc. The combined motion sweeps roughly half the arc of a hinged door — the leaf clears its opening without consuming as much surrounding floor.

Three hardware variants for three jambs

Three hardware variants for three jambs

S40 places the rotation rod in the leaf itself (40 mm minimum thickness). T.E. places the rod in the jamb for jambs with a vertical upright. T.E. Slim is the version for flat jambs without an upright — engineered around plane jamb construction.

Ergon Living S40

Ergon Living S40

Rotation rod inserted within the door leaf. Min 40 mm hollow-core thickness. Two jamb construction options.

Ergon Living T.E.

Ergon Living T.E.

Rotation rod inserted in the jamb (with vertical upright). Min 35 mm thickness — hollow, solid, or glazed.

Ergon Living T.E. Slim

Ergon Living T.E. Slim

Rotation rod in the jamb (flat jamb, no upright). Min 35 mm thickness. For plane-jamb construction.
