Simonswerk AN 140-3D is the concealed hinge that makes the GD Dorigo invisible-door system actually invisible. Sized for our standard GD frame and an 80 kg leaf, the hinge fully recesses into the rebate so the door reads as a flat plane of plaster, paint, or veneer — no hinge knuckle, no metal trim, no break in the wall. The 3D adjustment is critical: invisible doors are unforgiving of a millimeter of misalignment, and the AN-series hinge corrects vertical, lateral, and depth without rehanging.

What makes invisible doors invisible.

Concealed body

The hinge recesses fully into both leaf and frame — when the door is closed, the wall reads continuous. No knuckle, no trim, no metal break in the surface plane.

3D adjustment

Vertical (±3 mm), lateral (±3 mm), and depth (±1.5 mm) calibration after installation. Critical for invisible doors where a 1 mm offset breaks the flush reveal.

Capacity

80 kg per pair on standard 3-hinge installations. Our invisible doors run 60–75 kg with the substrate and skin, so the AN 140-3D works well within rated capacity.

Where we specify it

Default hinge on every GD invisible door — flush passage, plaster-flush, floor-to-ceiling, hidden-bookcase doors. Any leaf where the hinge cannot read on either face.
